Spontaneous bleeding into soft tissues was a common complication of anticoagulant therapy among critically ill patients during the COVID-19 pandemic. This study sought to evaluate the impact of different treatment methods on survival among COVID-19 patients with active or self-resolved spontaneous bleeding into soft tissues. Methods used to treat CT-confirmed spontaneous hematomas in COVID-19 patients included nonoperative management (NOM), angiography (AG) with transarterial embolization (TAE) and open surgery (OS).

Lately, subgaleal drainages and middle meningeal artery (MMA) embolization have been introduced to the standard armamentarium as treatment options for cSDH patients. Vascular anomalies, such as internal carotid artery (ICA) occlusion with spontaneous extra-intracranial anastomoses, usually lead to forfeiting embolization treatment from patients.

Spontaneous, non-traumatic bleeding into the subcapsular and perirenal space is a rare and potentially fatal condition known as Wunderlich syndrome (WS). It has a variety of causes including the usage of anticoagulation. Many anticoagulants including warfarin can interact with other medication and lead to potentially fatal complications, Herein, we report a case of a 47 year old female on warfarin who developed subcapsular renal hematoma and retroperitoneal hematoma after the completion of ciprofloxacin treatment course.

Introduction A large majority of spontaneous subarachnoid hemorrhages (SAH) are attributed to aneurysm rupture, though the cause remains unknown in a notable percentage of cases. Non-aneurysmal SAH (naSAH) is generally thought to follow a more benign clinical course than aneurysmal SAH (aSAH); however, similar complications may occur, and poor outcomes are still possible. Given the limited research on naSAH, this study aims to characterize these patients and correlate clinical and radiographic findings with outcomes.

Lower gastrointestinal bleeding (LGIB) frequently leads to emergency department (ED) visits and hospitalizations, encompassing a spectrum of outcomes from spontaneous resolution to intrahospital mortality. The purpose of this study was to validate a scoring system designed to identify cases of low-risk LGIB, allowing for safe discharge from the ED. A retrospective analysis of all gastrointestinal bleeding cases presented at three EDs in 2020 was conducted, focusing specifically on patients with LGIB.
