To investigate the feasibility and clinical efficacy of a novel approach to managing the incisions used to treat tibial plateau fractures (TPFs) with soft tissue swelling. We retrospectively enrolled 64 patients with TPFs who underwent surgery at the Second Hospital of Shandong University. Patients were divided into two groups: Group A (n = 32) underwent early surgery with the novel incision management technique, and Group B (n = 32) underwent conventional surgery after swelling reduction.

Background: Chlorination is a widespread method for drinking water disinfection that has the drawback of introducing potentially carcinogenic chemical by-products to drinking water.
Objective: We systematically evaluated the epidemiologic evidence of exposure to trihalomethane (THM) disinfection by-products and risk of cancer.
Methods: We conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis of epidemiologic studies that assessed the association of exposure to residential concentrations of THMs with risk of cancer in adults.

Background: Bilateral synchronous renal masses (BSRMs) are a rare finding, and the optimal treatment strategy remains undetermined. This study depicts the management of BSRM at eight European high-volume centers.
Methods: This is a retrospective analysis of prospective institutional databases collecting all patients presenting with clinical T1-2 N0 M0 BSRMs between 1993 and 2020 at 8 tertiary referral high-volume centers for renal cancer treatment in Europe.

Introduction: Unicompartmental knee arthroplasty (UKA) is increasingly favored in clinical practice due to its favorable long-term survival rates, positive clinical outcomes, and expedited recovery. Periprosthetic joint infections (PJIs) remain a formidable complication in knee arthroplasty, and guidelines for the management are limited. This study aims to assess the failure rates of débridement, antibiotics, and implant retention (DAIR) in UKAs, providing insights into optimal treatment management and infection-free survival for PJI in this context.

Background: Ankle joint moment and reaction force alteration after surgical treatment of chronic ankle instability (CAI) and osteochondral lesions of the talus (OLT) remains unknown.
Research Question: The current study aimed to investigate the in vivo kinetic effects of surgical management on patients with CAI and OLT and conduct a comparison with healthy subjects.
Methods: Eight patients with concurrent CAI and OLT were assessed in a stair descent setting prior to surgical management and one-year postoperatively.
