The conductivity of Zn-MOF-on-Co-MOF synthesized by one-pot method is improved by searching for the optimum carbonization temperature, which overcomes the limitation of traditional MOF. In order to further enhance electron transfer, the mesoporous PtPdCo trimetal was introduced, which provided considerable load capacity for methylene blue (MB) and reverse complementary DNA (sDNA), and also showed excellent catalytic activity for MB. In this study, the conductivity of aptasensor was improved by modifying carbonized MOF as the base material.

Background: Boar semen quality emphasizes three major criteria: sperm concentration, motility, and morphology. Methods to analyze concentration and motility quickly and objectively readily exist, but few exist for analyzing morphology outside of subjective manual counting. Other vital factors for fertilization, like acrosome health, lack efficient detection methods due to limitations in detection by the human eye and costly biomarker analysis, which is rarely used in semen diagnostics.

Strong Gravitational Lensing and Microlensing of Supernovae.

Space Sci Rev

February 2024

Institute of Physics, Laboratory of Astrophysics, Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Observatoire de Sauverny, 1290 Versoix, Switzerland.

Strong gravitational lensing and microlensing of supernovae (SNe) are emerging as a new probe of cosmology and astrophysics in recent years. We provide an overview of this nascent research field, starting with a summary of the first discoveries of strongly lensed SNe. We describe the use of the time delays between multiple SN images as a way to measure cosmological distances and thus constrain cosmological parameters, particularly the Hubble constant, whose value is currently under heated debates.

A New Method for the Follow-Up of Patients with Alopecia Areata.

J Clin Med

July 2024

Dermatology Unit, Department of Clinical Internal, Anesthesiological and Cardiovascular Science, Sapienza University of Rome, 00185 Rome, Italy.

Teledermatology is the application of information and telecommunication technologies in the field of dermatology to provide remote care services based on the exchange of clinical information within a network of professionals or between professionals and patients. Tele-trichoscopy is a non-invasive, inexpensive, and easy-to-use method that applies the principle of surface microscopy at different magnifications. Alopecia areata is a non-scarring alopecia with a chronic evolution, which often needs a close follow-up.

Hyperspectral (HS) imaging (HSI) technology combines the main features of two existing technologies: imaging and spectroscopy. This allows to analyse simultaneously the morphological and chemical attributes of the objects captured by a HS camera. In recent years, the use of HSI provides valuable insights into the interaction between light and biological tissues, and makes it possible to detect patterns, cells, or biomarkers, thus, being able to identify diseases.
