Introduction: Previous studies identified genetic links between the TCF7L2 C/T variant rs7903146, type 2 diabetes (T2D), and obesity. We wished to deepen our understanding of how specific diets interact with this variant to affect blood metabolites, an aspect not previously investigated. Hence, we conducted a controlled study where individuals with different genotypes followed a Mediterranean (Med) or low-fat (LF) diet for one week.

Method: Clinical data from colorectal cancer patients treated between 2001 and 2014 were obtained from the Danish Colorectal Cancer Group database. In 2016, all survivors were invited to participate in a national cross-sectional questionnaire study on long-term functional outcomes, including the chronic pain questionnaire.

Background Context: Recumbent MRI is the most widely used image modality in people with low back pain (LBP), however, it has been proposed that upright (standing) MRI has advantages over recumbent MRI because of its ability to assess the effects of being weight-bearing. It has been suggested that this produces systematic differences in MRI parameters and differences in the correlation between MRI parameters and pain or disability in patients thus, potentially adding clinically helpful information.
Purpose: This paper aims to review and summarize the available empirical evidence for or against these two hypotheses.

Background: Diabetic neuropathy (DN) affects up to half of individuals with type 1 and type 2 diabetes. Despite evidence that improving metabolic and cardiovascular health can slow its progression, DN remains a significant clinical challenge due to the lack of disease-modifying therapies and effective pain management strategies. This consensus aimed to identify gaps and recommend strategies to address these challenges.

Background: We quantify the loss of working years for people with epilepsy compared with the general population and consider variation by aetiology, psychiatric comorbidity, sex and age.
Methods: This population-based cohort study included all individuals aged 18-65 years living in Denmark from 1995 to 2018. Using nationwide registers since 1977, we identified people with epilepsy and obtained information on the main source of income or employment for each year during follow-up from 1995 to 2020.
