Due to patient safety, time limitations, and procedural complexity, the intraoperative setting is not ideal for technical practice. The Stroop task is widely used to study attentional control and cognitive flexibility. However, questions about its sensitivity to training and the impact of task conflict on attentional control remain open. We investigated the effects of practice and task conflict on attentional control in the Stroop task, with participants completing four sessions of a Stroop task over 3 weeks in low and high task-conflict conditions.

Background/objectives: Anterior segment optical Coherence Tomography (AS-OCT) is used extensively in imaging the cornea in health and disease. Our objective was to analyse and monitor corneal vascularisation (CVas) through the corresponding back-shadows visible on AS-OCT.
Subjects/methods: AS-OCT scans were obtained from 26 consecutive patients (eyes) with CVas of different aetiologies.

Several modifiable health factors in Life's Essential 8 (LE8) are linked to nutritional anemia and can assess overall cardiovascular health (CVH). This study explored the associations of CVH measured by LE8 score with nutritional anemia and iron deficiency anemia (IDA), including the mediating role of inflammatory biomarkers. This prospective cohort study included 181,069 participants from UK Biobank.

This study describes procedures for embedding digital information into additively manufactured components as well as procedures for readout and tensile testing. Embedded digital codes were printed inside ASTM E8/E8M dumbbells using Direct Metal Laser Melting (DMLS) with an EOS M290 printer. The codes were configured as either ellipsoids or prolate spheroids in patterns given by the Cantor dust fractal.
