The effects of orally administeredated detergents (rokafenol and siarczanol) on the absorption of lead from rabbits alimentary duct were reviewed. The absorption of lead was evaluated by the activity of delta--aminolevulinic acid dehydratase of erythrocytes, delta--aminolevulinic acid level in urine and the level of lead in the blood and liver. The detergents were found to increase the absorption of lead.

Spectroscopic and in silico data indicate that phenolic acids interact with aldose reductase with different degrees of affinity at a single binding site.

Our previous studies demonstrated that the enzyme aldose reductase (AR) is activated by its interaction with tubulin, a mechanism which can lead to the emergence of secondary diseases in diabetic patients. We also found that different compounds derived from phenolic acid (CAFs) can prevent this interaction and thus AR activation. Here, we used spectroscopic and bioinformatic techniques to explore the interaction between AR and three CAFs: 3-nitrotyrosine (NTyr), Tyrosine (Tyr), and vanillic acid (Van).

Nanoparticles-Based Optical Chemosensors for Lead Acetate Sensing in Water: ZnO, ZnCeO, and ZnNdO.

J Fluoresc

January 2025

Materials Science Lab (1), Physics Department, Faculty of Science, Cairo University, Giza, Egypt.

This study reports the synthesis, characterization, and optical properties of ZnO, ZnCeO, and ZnNdO nanoparticles and their interactions with lead acetate solutions. X-ray diffraction (XRD) confirmed that the nanoparticles were synthesized in a single-phase hexagonal structure, with crystallite sizes of 12.48 nm, 50.

Electronic address:

Activities of the chloroplasts and nucleus are coordinated by retrograde signaling, which has crucial roles in plant development and environmental adaptation. However, the connection between chloroplast status and nuclear genome stability is not well understood. Chloroplast state transitions allow the plant to balance the absorption capacity of the photosystems in an environment in which the light quality was changing.

Plastic pollution and global warming are widespread issues that lead to several impacts on aquatic organisms. Despite harmful studies on both subjects, there are few studies on how temperature increases plastics' adverse effects on aquatic animals, mainly freshwater species. So, this study aims to clarify the potential impact of temperature increases on the toxicological properties of polyvinyl chloride nano-plastics (PVC-NPs) in Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) by measuring biochemical and oxidative biomarkers.
