Background: Tracheal resection and reconstruction is the standard treatment for postintubation stenosis. However, when the stenosis extends proximally to the subglottic larynx surgical treatment is particularly difficult. Specific surgical techniques have to be used in order to preserve the recurrent laryngeal nerves.

The author report, that in the Clinic of Obstetric & Gynaecology--St. Zagora, since 15 years, the uterine wall was reconstructed in two stories during caesarean section with continued catgut stitches. From 1990 they set the task to study prospectively the results of using the new surgical technics--one-stored, two-layered suture for reconstruction of the uterine wall during caesarean section.
