In estimating the average treatment effect in observational studies, the influence of confounders should be appropriately addressed. To this end, the propensity score is widely used. If the propensity scores are known for all the subjects, bias due to confounders can be adjusted by using the inverse probability weighting (IPW) by the propensity score.

Liver ischemia-reperfusion (IR) injury is a common complication following liver surgery, significantly impacting the prognosis of liver transplantation and other liver surgeries. Betaine-homocysteine methyltransferase (BHMT), a crucial enzyme in the methionine cycle, has been previously confirmed the pivotal role in hepatocellular carcinoma, and it has also been demonstrated that BHMT inhibits inflammation, apoptosis, but its role in liver IR injury remains unknow. Following I/R injury, we found that BHMT expression was significantly upregulated in human liver transplant specimens, mice and hepatocytes.

Multirotor drones are widely used in fields such as environmental monitoring, agricultural inspection, and package delivery, but they still face numerous challenges in durability and aerial operation capabilities. To address these issues, this paper presents a biomimetic leg-claw mechanism (LCM) inspired by the biomechanics of birds. The claw of the LCM adopts a bistable gripper design that can rapidly close through external impact or actively close via the coordination of internal mechanisms.

In quiet standing, the central nervous system implements a pre-programmed ankle strategy of postural control to maintain upright balance and stability. This strategy comprises a synchronized common neural drive delivered to synergistically grouped muscles. This study evaluated connectivity between EMG signals of the unilateral and bilateral homologous muscle pairs of the lower legs during various standing balance conditions using magnitude-squared coherence (MSC).
