This study was conducted to investigate the anti-obesity effects of bioactive fractions JAF2 and JAF3 from Justicia adhatoda (JA) in vitro using enzymatic assays, 3T3-L1 cells and in vivo using a monosodium glutamate-high-fat diet (MSG-HFD) model. High-Performance Thin Layer Chromatography coupled with Mass Spectrometry (HPTLC-MS-MSn) was finally utilized to analyze bioactive fractions for the compounds responsible for the activity. In vitro, the anti-obesity effects of JAF2 and JAF3 were assessed in 3T3-L1 adipocytes, revealing that JAF2 significantly reduced lipid and triglyceride levels.

The synovium is a loose connective tissue that separates the intra-articular (IA) joint compartments of all diarthrodial joints from the systemic circulation. It can be divided into two layers: the intima, a thin and cell-dense layer atop a more heterogeneous subintima, composed of collagen and various cell types. The subintima contains penetrating capillaries and lymphatic vessels that rapidly clear injected drugs from the joint space which may vary not only with drug size and charge but also with the microstructure and composition of the intima and subintima of the synovium.

Background: Flavonoids are among the most important compounds found in plants, since laboratory studies have shown them to be a daily requirement in human diets due to their various health benefits. Therefore, this study focused on extracting, purifying, and measuring the antioxidant activity of the flavonoid quercetin, which is widely found in plants and possesses a variety of biological activities, from different plant sources.
Methods: The extraction of quercetin was performed using several methods (chemical, physical, and enzymatic) and several extraction solutions (water, ethanol, and chloroform) from several plants (spinach, dill, Onion Skin, , sumac, digalkhasab chemri, and leelwi chemri).

A chicken protein hydrogel (HG) was enzymatically prepared and blended with a carnauba wax-based oleogel (OG) to form bigels (BG) in ratios of 50:50 to 90:10. These systems were infused with thyme essential oil (TEO) at 0.5 %, 1 %, and 2 % v/v to harness its antioxidant properties.

Microscopic evidence demonstrated a strictly biotrophic lifestyle of the scab fungus on growing apple leaves and characterised its hemibiotrophy as the combination of biotrophy and saprotrophy not described before. The pathogen-host interface was characterised by the formation of knob-like structures of the fungal stroma appressed to epidermal cells as early as 1 day after host penetration, very thin fan-shaped cells covering large parts of the host cell lumen, and enzymatic cuticle penetration from the subcuticular space limited to the protruding conidiophores. The cell wall had numerous orifices, facilitating intimate contact with the host tissue.
