A major threat to world health is the high death rate from gastrointestinal (GI) cancer, especially in Asia, South America, and Europe. The new approaches are needed because of the complexity and heterogeneity of gastrointestinal (GI) cancer, which has made the development of effective treatments difficult. To investigate the potential of peptide-based therapies that target the P21 Activated Kinase 1 (PAK1) in GI cancer, we are using the DBsORF database to predict peptides from the genomes of two bacterial strains: Lactobacillus plantarum and Pediococcus pentosaceus.

Ovarian cancer (OC) ranks as the fifth leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the United States, posing a significant threat to female health. Late-stage diagnoses, driven by elusive symptoms often masquerading as gastrointestinal issues, contribute to a concerning 70% of cases being identified in advanced stages. While early-stage OC brags a 90% cure rate, progression involving pelvic organs or extending beyond the peritoneal cavity drastically diminishes it.

Background: Malaria continues to be an important threat to public health and infects millions of children under 5 years of age each year. Although Ethiopia has set targets for at-risk group interventions to eradicate and manage malaria, the illness is still a serious public health problem in areas where it is endemic, especially in the unique lowlands in the Borena zone.
Objective: This study aimed to determine the prevalence of malaria and associated factors among children in Borena's pastoral communities, Oromia Regional State, southern Ethiopia, in 2022.
