Background: Liver fibrosis is caused by chronic toxic or cholestatic liver injury. Fibrosis results from the recruitment of myeloid cells into the injured liver, the release of inflammatory and fibrogenic cytokines, and the activation of myofibroblasts, which secrete extracellular matrix, mostly collagen type I. Hepatic myofibroblasts originate from liver-resident mesenchymal cells, including HSCs and bone marrow-derived CD45+ collagen type I+ expressing fibrocytes.

Placenta previa totalis (PPT) occurs when the placenta completely covers the internal cervical os. This study aimed to investigate the protective effects of Lycium barbarum polysaccharide (LBP) on digestive function and intestinal barrier integrity in septic mice, and to explore its underlying mechanisms. A total of 70 healthy male BALB/C mice were randomly assigned into five groups: blank control group (BG, n = 12), control group (CG, n = 12), low-dose group (LDG, n = 12, 200 mg/kg), medium-dose group (MDG, n = 12, 400 mg/kg), and high-dose group (HDG, n = 12, 800 mg/kg). A sepsis model was established by cecal ligation and puncture, followed by treatment with different doses of LBP.

Background: Despite accumulating evidence and recommendations for management of colonic diverticular bleeding (CDB), the changes in its clinical management and outcomes remain unknown.
Methods: We performed a retrospective tendency analysis on a biennial basis, a propensity score-matched cohort study between the first and latter half groups, and mediation analyses to compare the diagnostic and treatment methods between January 2010 and December 2019 (CODE BLUE-J Study).
Results: A total of 6575 patients with CDB were included.
