Assessment of the tumor immune microenvironment can be used as a prognostic tool for improved survival and as a predictive biomarker for treatment benefit, particularly from immune modulating treatments including cytotoxic chemotherapy. Using Digital Spatial Profiling (DSP), we studied the tumor immune microenvironment of 522 breast cancer cases by quantifying 35 immune biomarkers on tissue microarrays from the MA.5 phase III clinical trial.

The strict connections/interactions between microbial infections and cancer are nowadays widely accepted. Hence, the dual (or multiple) targeting of microbial infections and cancer is an essential issue to be addressed. In this context, metal complexes have gained considerable importance and effectiveness in medicinal chemistry.

The monkeypox virus (MPXV), which is a member of the Orthopoxvirus genus in the class Poxviridae, is the causative agent of the zoonotic viral infection MPXV. The disease is similar to smallpox, but it is usually less dangerous. This study examines the evolution of the MPXV epidemic in Canada with an emphasis on the effects of control employing actual data.

Gastric cancer remains one of the global health threats for human beings. However, the therapeutic efficacy of the widely-used chemotherapy is usually limited due to the lack of specificity and the related toxicity. Only limited therapeutic agents were demonstrated to show selective and potent inhibitory activity to gastric cancer cells.

Subsurface oxygen in oxide-derived copper catalysts significantly influences CO activation. However, its effect on the molecular charging process, the key to forming the CO intermediate, remains poorly understood. We employ many-body perturbation theory to investigate the impact of the structural factors induced by the subsurface oxygen on the charged activation of CO.
