Piper fruits are one of the main dietary sources of , a fruit-eating bat largely responsible for dispersing their seeds. To investigate the mechanism of this plant-animal interaction, ripe and unripe fruits of were collected in the morning, afternoon, and night. The volatile organic compounds (VOC) were obtained through dynamic headspace (HS) and hydrodistillation (HD) and were analyzed by gas chromatography with flame ionization detector and GC-MS, resulting in the identification of ninety-five compounds.

Survival rate of head and neck squamous cell carcinomas (HNSCC) patients are still to date very poor, and the application of innovative clinical approaches are urgently needed. Cold atmospheric plasmas (CAPs) are partially ionized gases that have shown anti-tumor effectiveness over a wide range of cancer types with potential application into clinics. However, the comprehension of the mechanisms underlying indirect CAP effects plays a key role for the prediction of treatment outcomes.

A simple, fast, sample-saving, and sensitive liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry method was established with a linear range adjusted by in-source collision-induced dissociation. Notably, this could simultaneously determine busulfan, fludarabine, phenytoin, and posaconazole in plasma from children, each having unique physical and chemical properties. The procedure necessitated only 20 μL of plasma and involved a simple protein precipitation process.

As the occurrence of human diseases and conditions increase, questions continue to arise about their linkages to chemical exposure, especially for per-and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). Currently, many chemicals of concern have limited experimental information available for their use in analytical assessments. Here, we aim to increase this knowledge by providing the scientific community with multidimensional characteristics for 175 PFAS and their resulting 281 ion types.

The phytochemical profile of various plant species reveals that some compounds possess notable antioxidant and antimicrobial properties. In this study we investigated for the first time, the antioxidant activity (FRAP, DPPH and TAC), total phenolic contents and total flavonoid contents of Delile ex Godr flowers extracts (-hexane, ethyl acetate and methanol) as well as their antimicrobial activity. The results obtained showed that the methanol extract contained the highest content of total phenolics (346.
