Introduction: Extraction wounds in oral cavity are usually self-healing. But, this wound healing is hindered because of factors such as saliva, blood, plaque, food debris which causes post-operative infection and pain due to microbial colonization. Placement of periodontal dressings such as zinc oxide eugenol or methyl methacrylate polymer would provide protection up to some extent despite leaving the site without any dressing, but it has disadvantage of difficulty in removing.

A suture enlocation (SE) approach is proposed to manage comminuted intra-articular mandibular condyle fractures not amenable to open reduction internal fixation approaches. The SE approach is an effective operative option for the treatment of condylar fractures with the combination of fracture dislocation, malocclusion, comminution, and inadequate surface area for open fixation techniques. This study describes the SE approach, outcomes, and complications.

This clinical report describes how a decubital ulcer arose from the direct contact of the vestibular movable mucous membrane against mini-implant balled-type heads after the mini-implant insertion in the edentulous atrophic mandible of a 78-year-old patient who was not wearing a conventional mandibular complete denture for more than 10 years. Due to severe alveolar ridge atrophy, mini-implant insertion (2.0 mm wide) was an option without extensive surgical procedures.

Soft tissue lesions are among the most prevalent forms of tumors or tumor-like alterations within the oral cavity. They exhibit a wide spectrum of characteristics, ranging from benign, noninvasive lesions to malignant tumors, which collectively present a diagnostic challenge. A 67-year-old patient presented with an incidental finding of induration on the right cheek during dental hygiene.

Non-stabilized fractures can be made at mandibular sites in mice, thus making it possible to analyze bone repair using an endochondral ossification mode. To most accurately reflect this process in vivo, it is necessary to have a standardized protocol to avoid excessive bone loss and soft tissue damage, particularly at the mandibular site, an anatomical site characterized by minimal access. To our knowledge, we describe for the first time a less-invasive protocol of non-stabilized mandibular fracture in mice.
