Ni(II)-hydrazineylpyridine (Ni(II)-PyH)-catalyzed regioselective synthesis of α-benzyl substituted β-hydroxy ketones from α,β-unsaturated ketones and alcohols is reported a Fenton free-radical reaction. This protocol enables facile access to desired products in good to excellent yields in 12 h using toluene solvent at room temperature to 100 °C. The structural analysis of the products was confirmed by H, C-NMR, GC-MS, and HRMS data.

Cancer photoimmunotherapy represents an intelligent and highly efficient therapeutic approach that harnesses the photothermal effect to precisely target and ablate tumor tissues, while simultaneously modulating the immune system to achieve tumor elimination. The integration of multifunctional therapeutic modalities for combined photoimmunotherapy requires advanced drug delivery systems. A soluble fraction of faba bean protein was conjugated with tannic acid via the free-radical grafting method using a mixture of ascorbic acid and hydrogen peroxide. Surface plasmon resonance showed a strong bonding between them, while the free amino and thiol group measurements indicated tannic acid's bonding with the amino groups and cysteine residues on the proteins. Structural analysis using intrinsic fluorescence and surface hydrophobicity demonstrated tannic acid's interaction with the aromatic and hydrophobic amino acids of the protein.

A hybrid coating made of poly (methyl methacrylate) with SiO2-TiO2 particles (PMMA/SiO2-TiO2) has been developed for use as a coating on nanosatellites, evaluating its resistance to high vacuum by quantifying its weight loss. The coating was applied on an Al 7075 aluminum substrate used for the aerospace sector. PMMA/SiO2-TiO2 hybrid coatings were prepared using sol-gel reaction in situ assisted with sonochemistry.
