In humans, the 2-oxoglutarate-dependent dioxygenases (2-OGDDs) catalyze hydroxylation reactions involved in cell metabolism, the biosynthesis of small molecules, DNA and RNA demethylation, the hypoxic response and the formation of collagen. The reaction is catalyzed by a highly oxidizing ferryl-oxo species produced when the active site non-heme iron engages molecular oxygen. Enzyme activity is specifically stimulated by l-ascorbic acid (ascorbate, vitamin C), an effect not well mimicked by other reducing agents.

Sonodynamic therapy, a treatment modality recently widely used, is capable of disrupting the tumor microenvironment by inducing immunogenic cell death (ICD) and enhancing antitumor immunity during immunotherapy. Erdafitinib, an inhibitor of the fibroblast growth factor receptor, has demonstrated potential benefits for treating bladder cancer. However, Erdafitinib shows effectiveness in only a small number of patients, and the majority of patients responding positively to the medication have "immune-cold" tumors.

Functional dyspepsia (FD) is a chronic disease that occurs in the gastroduodenal region and significantly impacts human health. Maslinic acid (MA), a pentacyclic triterpene acid, is the primary bioactive ingredient in Chinese medicinal herbs such as hawthorn, which exhibits beneficial impacts on the regulation of various disease progressions. However, the specific functions and associated pathways of MA in FD progression remain unclear and require further investigation.

The interplay between root exudates and rhizobacteria is essential for enhancing agricultural productivity. Herein, the impacts of cerium dioxide nanomaterials (CeO NMs) on these interactions in soybean plants were investigated. Following 3-5 weeks of exposure to 5 mg·kg CeO NMs, the composition of root exudates changed over time, with isoflavone levels increasing by 6.

Labor analgesia is increasingly widespread throughout the world with a rate ranging from 10 to 60%. The benefits regarding clinical and non-clinical maternal-fetal outcomes are currently discussed in international scientific literature. Even stage of labor needs a different and appropriate approach to control the pain; however, different techniques are reported in literature.
