Background: Even though anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibodies (ANCA) are frequently linked to ANCA associated vasculitis (AAV), it's important to understand that other illnesses, including lung diseases, can also manifest as ANCA positivity. Finding the incriminated pathology might be difficult.
Aim: To report four ANCA-associated cases with a diagnosis problem.

Objectives: HLA alloimmunization is one of the most troublesome consequence of regular transfusion which is itself a mainstay measure to provide longevity to the thalassemia patients. Febrile non-hemolytic transfusion reaction (FNHTR) is one of the most common complication which might be related to the HLA alloimmunization. Here, we studied the HLA antigenic system and alloimmunization rate in the Iranian β-thalassemia patients who suffered from FNHTR compare to the β-thalassemia patients without FNHTR.

We review how polyreactive natural IgM autoantibodies (IgM-NAA) protect the host from invading micro-organisms and host neo-antigens that are constantly being produced by oxidation mechanisms and cell apoptosis. Second, we discuss how IgM-NAA and IgM anti-leukocyte antibodies (IgM-ALA) inhibits autoimmune inflammation by anti-idiotypic mechanisms, enhancing removal of apoptotic cells, masking neo-antigens, and regulating the function of dendritic cells (DC) and effector cells. Third, we review how natural IgM prevents autoimmune disorders arising from pathogenic IgG autoantibodies, triggered by genetic mechanisms (e.

Purpose: Recent investigations have revealed that populations of macrophages and dendritic cells (DCs) are present in the stroma and epithelium of the cornea, although the precise phenotype and distribution are still controversial. CX(3)CR1, the sole receptor for the chemokine fractalkine, is expressed by these monocyte-derived cells. Transgenic CX(3)CR1(GFP) mice, in which either one (heterozygous) or both (homozygous) copies of the CX(3)CR1 gene were replaced by enhanced green fluorescent protein (eGFP), were used to characterize monocyte-derived cells in the mouse cornea and to determine whether the expression of this receptor influences the recruitment of these cells into the normal cornea.
