Background: Intradermal injection of CPM-HA20G, a low-viscoelasticity hyaluronic acid (HA) dermal filler with glycerol, has been shown to be effective for facial rejuvenation in Caucasians, but research in Asians is limited.

Aims: This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of CPM-HA20G in enhancing facial skin quality in Korean women using a protocol developed by local aesthetic experts.

Patients/methods: In this 24-week prospective, single-arm, open-label study, 20 women received CPM-HA20G injections in the immediate subdermal layer on the anterior cheek (1 mL per side; total 2 mL) in three sessions every 4 weeks.

Streptococcus mutans, the causative agent of human dental caries, expresses a cell wall attached Serotype c-specific Carbohydrate (SCC) that is critical for cell viability. SCC consists of a polyrhamnose backbone of →3)α-Rha(1 → 2)α-Rha(1→ repeats with glucose (Glc) side-chains and glycerol phosphate (GroP) decorations. This study reveals that SCC has one predominant and two more minor Glc modifications.

The reduction in hyaluronic acid concentration and viscosity in the synovial fluid of patients struggling with osteoarthritis increases the abrasion of articular cartilage. The aim of this study was to design a semi-IPN hydrogel based on genipin-crosslinked carboxymethyl chitosan (CMCh) and glycerol to achieve long-term release of hyaluronic acid. The results showed that hydrogel comprising CMCh (3 % wt.

Prolonged storage reduces viability of and core intestinal bacteria in fecal microbiota transplantation preparations for dogs.

Gastrointestinal Laboratory, Department of Small Animal Clinical Sciences, Texas A&M University, College Station, TX, United States.

Introduction: Fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) has been described useful as an adjunct treatment for chronic enteropathy in dogs. Different protocols can be used to prepare and store FMT preparations, however, the effect of these methods on microbial viability is unknown. We aimed (1) to assess the viability of several core intestinal bacterial species by qPCR and (2) to assess () viability through culture to further characterize bacterial viability in different protocols for FMT preparations.

Aim: To investigate fasting metabolism in children with very long-chain acyl-CoA dehydrogenase deficiency (VLCADD) and medium-chain acyl-CoA dehydrogenase deficiency (MCADD) using microdialysis technique.

Methods: Twelve patients (7 with VLCADD, 5 with MCADD, mean age 4.9 years, 10/12 diagnosed via newborn screening) were recruited for investigation in connection to clinical fasting examinations at the Karolinska University Hospital (between 2015 and 2024).
