This report describes a case of shock symptoms in a 72-year-old woman with epilepsy who had been in a state of polypharmacy, taking multiple antipsychotic drugs. After receiving a normal dose of periciazine, she exhibited impaired consciousness, hypothermia, and hypotension and was admitted to hospital. Despite poor response to vasopressors, conservative treatment led to gradual improvement.

The maintenance of pharmacological torpor and hypothermia (body temperature 28 °C - 33 °C) in rats for a week is presented. For this purpose, our laboratory has developed a device (BioFeedback-2) for the feed-back controlled multiple injections of small doses of a pharmacological composition that we created earlier. On the 7th day, the rat spontaneously come out of the pharmacological torpor, the body temperature returned to normal, and on the 8th day, the animal could consume food and water.

Aims: To initiate a state of artificial torpor we suggested a pharmacological multi-targeting strategy for simulation of the physiological pattern of natural hibernation including a significant reduction in heart rate, respiratory rate, body temperature and oxygen consumption as well as a decline in brain activity known as torpor.

Materials And Methods: We have developed a composition which initiates a pharmacologically induced torpor-like state (PITS-composition), made up of eight therapeutic agents, inert gas xenon and lipid emulsion served as a drug vehicle.

Key Findings: After a single intravenous injection to rats, PITS-composition causes a rapid decline in heart rate followed by a steady decrease in body temperature from about 38.

The aim of this study was the analysis of the toxicoepidemiological structure of psychopharmacological drugs poisoning in Azerbaijan. We collected and analyzed the data on all cases of acute poisoning by psychopharmacological drugs (codes of categories T42/T43 ICD-10) undergoing inpatient treatment at the Center of Clinical Toxicology in Baku, Azerbaijan in 2009-2016.

Aim: To assess the efficacy and tolerability of pericyazine in the treatment of patients with mental disorders manifesting with psychopathic-like symptoms and correction of pathocharacterological disorders in patients with personality disorders during the short-term admission to the hospital or the long-term outpatient treatment.

Material And Methods: Sixty-three patients with schizotypal personality disorder and organic personality disorder with psychopathic-like symptoms and pathocharacterological changes within the diagnosis of dissocial personality disorder and borderline personality disorder were examined. Patients received pericyazine during the short-term admission to the hospital (6 weeks) or the long-term outpatient treatment (6 month).
