Polyphenols are known to interact with starch to form the V-type inclusion complex or the noninclusive complex. It is hypothesized that the addition of polyphenols could improve the properties of Chinese yam (Dioscorea opposita Thunb.) starch, and the properties of the complexes could be regulated by controlling the additive amount of polyphenols.

The quinazoline scaffold serves as a fundamental framework, demonstrating potent anti-tumor activity. Employing the pharmacophore-based scaffold hopping principle, we successfully synthesized a series of FAK/PLK1 inhibitors incorporating the quinazoline scaffold. The synthesized compounds were characterized using H NMR, C NMR, and HRMS techniques.

A significant limitation of imaged capillary electric focusing (icIEF) is the inability to identify and characterize specific species in the electropherogram. This has led to the development of complementary ion-exchange chromatography (IEX)-based methods that are amenable to either fraction collection and subsequent characterization or online IEX coupled to mass spectrometry. To overcome this limitation while maintaining the use of icIEF, novel approaches, including an icIEF separation and fractionation technology (MauriceFlex, ProteinSimple), have been developed.

Preparation of protein and its preventive effect on nonalcoholic fatty liver disease in mice.

Food Funct

January 2025

Institute of Edible Fungi, Shanghai Academy of Agricultural Sciences, National Engineering Research Center of Edible Fungi, Key Laboratory of Edible Fungi Resources and Utilization (South), Ministry of Agriculture, 201403, China.

is a valuable edible fungus with multidimensional bioactivities; however, research on protein and its beneficial effects on nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) have been limited. In this study, protein (MEP) with 80.59% protein content was prepared, isolated, and characterized by the complete amino acid composition.

Visible light induced photocatalytic degradation of norfloxacin using xC-TiO.

Heliyon

January 2025

Institute of Chemical Sciences, University of Swat, Swat, 19120, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan.

In recent years, antibiotic pollution has become a major environmental concern. The extensive production and widespread use of prescribed antibiotics have significantly impacted ecosystems. The main objective of the present study is to investigate the photocatalytic degradation of the antibiotic norfloxacin (NFX) under visible light.
