Rationale: We report the efficacy of combination prednisolone and intravenous (IV) rituximab as an immunosuppressive regimen for a young male presenting with extensive venous thromboembolism including a submassive pulmonary embolism secondary to life-threatening nephrotic syndrome from very high risk anti-phospholipase-A2 receptor (PLA2R) positive membranous nephropathy. Initial treatment was with mechanical thrombectomy and anticoagulation. Thereafter, oral prednisolone was initiated to induce remission, during a period of uninterrupted anticoagulation.

This study aimed to investigate the clinical value of glucocorticoids in patients with neutropenic severe pneumonia at moderate to high risk according to the Pneumonia Severity Index (PSI) in patients with hematologic diseases. Clinical data were collected from 534 patients at the Fujian Medical University Union Hospital from October 2016 to December 2018. We evaluated the changes in inflammatory cytokines, treatment failure, in-hospital mortality, and other outcomes, adjusting for potential confounders through propensity score matching.

Because of immune dysregulation in COVID-19 there are indications that prolonged corticosteroids could be considered in treating patients for persistent radiological sequelae and respiratory symptoms.
Objectives: to investigate lung function and lung sequelae on high-resolution CT (HRCT) im COVID-19 patients who were treated with glucocorticoid therapy in two dose regimens with a control group of patients who did not receive additional glucocorticoid therapy.
