Three-dimensional (3D) in vitro cell culture models are invaluable tools for investigating the tumor microenvironment (TME). However, analyzing the impact of critical stromal elements, such as extracellular matrix (ECM), remains a challenge. Here, we developed a hydrogel-free self-assembly platform to establish ECM-rich 3D "MatriSpheres" to deconvolute cancer cell-ECM interactions.

The present study aimed to investigate whether soluble protein hydrolysate (SPH) protects against intestinal oxidative stress injury. An lactate dehydrogenase assay was used to assess the cytotoxicity and protective effect of SPH. For assessment, friend virus B NIH Jackson mouse pups aged 21 days were administered with 5% w/v soluble protein hydrolysate (SPH) through drinking water for 14 days and then luminally injected with 0.

Background: Methotrexate (MTX) effectively eliminates cancerous cells but can also cause inflammation intestinal, known as mucositis. Forsythiaside A (FTA) from Forsythia suspensa has shown promise in relieving mucositis by targeting the NLRP3 pathways. Since NLRP3 inflammasome activation is negatively regulated by autophagy, this study explores how FTAmediated autophagy affects NLRP3 inflammasome in treating MTX-induced intestinal inflammation.

Gastrointestinal (GI) involvement in Lewy body diseases (LBDs) has been observed since the initial descriptions of patients by James Parkinson. Recent experimental and human observational studies raise the possibility that pathogenic alpha-synuclein (⍺-syn) might develop in the GI tract and subsequently spread to susceptible brain regions. The cellular and mechanistic origins of ⍺-syn propagation in disease are under intense investigation.

Rectal cancer accounts for over 35% of the worldwide colorectal cancer burden representing a distinctive subset of cancers from those arising in the colon. Colorectal cancers exhibit a continuum of traits that differ with their location in the large intestine. Due to anatomical and molecular differences, rectal cancer is treated differently from colon cancer, with neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy playing a pivotal role in the control of the locally advanced disease.
