Cholangiocarcinoma (CCA) is a biliary tract carcinoma that is challenging to treat due to its heterogeneity and limited treatment options. Genetic alterations in DNA damage response (DDR) pathways and homologous recombination (HR) defects are common in CCA. This has prompted interest in the use of ataxia telangiectasia and Rad3-related protein (ATR) and poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP) inhibitors to treat CCA.

Objectives: Instilling the principles of ethical and responsible medical research is critical for educating the next generation of clinical researchers. We developed a responsible conduct of research (RCR) workshop and associated curriculum for undergraduate trainees in a quantitative clinical research program.

Methods: Topics in this 7-module RCR workshop are relevant to undergraduate trainees in quantitative fields, many of whom are learning about these concepts for the first time.

Acrometastasis is an extremely rare diagnosis, invariably associated with poor prognosis. A 60-year-old female with complaints of cough and breathing difficulty also presented with pain and swelling in her left leg. Radiological investigations suggested a double primary in the lung and leg; histopathology and immunohistochemistry (IHC) confirmed the lesion in the leg to be metastatic from the lung primary.
