: While it is generally assumed that common neurobehavioral assessments, such as the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale, Fourth Edition (WAIS-IV), function similarly in clinical and non-clinical populations, this has not been validated in adults with congenital heart disease (CHD). In this study, we examined the latent factor structure of the WAIS-IV in adults with d-transposition of the great arteries (d-TGA) who participated in the Boston Circulatory Arrest Study. : The WAIS-IV was administered as part of a larger assessment battery.

This study examines the relationships among Foreign Language Learning Enjoyment (FLLE), L2 grit, academic burnout, and motivated behavior in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learners, using a mixed-methods approach. A total of 534 Chinese undergraduate EFL learners participated in the quantitative phase, which used a cross-sectional survey, followed by narrative inquiry with 15 participants in the qualitative phase. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) analysis revealed that FLLE positively influenced motivated behavior while reducing academic burnout.

Promoter capture Hi-C identifies promoter-related loops and fountain structures in Arabidopsis.

Genome Biol

December 2024

State Key Laboratory of Protein and Plant Gene Research, School of Advanced Agricultural Sciences, Peking-Tsinghua Center for Life Sciences, Peking University, Beijing, 100871, China.

Background: Promoters serve as key elements in the regulation of gene transcription. In mammals, loop interactions between promoters and enhancers increase the complexity of the promoter-based regulatory networks. However, the identification of enhancer-promoter or promoter-related loops in Arabidopsis remains incomplete.

Altered chromatin landscape and 3D interactions associated with primary constitutional MLH1 epimutations.

Clin Epigenetics

December 2024

Hereditary Cancer Group, ONCOBELL Program, Institut d'Investigació Biomèdica de Bellvitge (IDIBELL), L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, Spain.

Background: Lynch syndrome (LS), characterised by an increased risk for cancer, is mainly caused by germline pathogenic variants affecting a mismatch repair gene (MLH1, MSH2, MSH6, PMS2). Occasionally, LS may be caused by constitutional MLH1 epimutation (CME) characterised by soma-wide methylation of one allele of the MLH1 promoter. Most of these are "primary" epimutations, arising de novo without any apparent underlying cis-genetic cause, and are reversible between generations.

Background: Grounding on the Resource-Based View (RBV) and organization support theory (OST), this study examines the effect of talent management practice (TMP) on perceived organizational support (POS), organizational performance (OP), and employee performance (EP) within the Jordanian telecom sector, with a specific focus on the mediating effect of POS's between TMP-EP and OP relationship.

Methods: This study uses a cross-sectional method to collect data from 397 personnel at three Jordanian telecom enterprises. The Smart-PLS application assisted with structural equation modeling, which was used to examine the data.
