Aims: ultrasound (US) diagnosis of enthesitis is burdened of low specificity, especially when it is performed in patients with psoriasis (PsO) but without clinical psoriatic arthritis (PsA), because of mechanical, dysmetabolic and age-related concurrent enthesopatic changes. We propose a novel US score to quantify the cortical-entheseal bone remodeling burden of several peripheral entheses, aiming to improve the specificity of US for PsA-related enthesitis, and to evaluate its diagnostic value in PsO patients with subsequent diagnosis of psoriatic arthritis (PsO/PsA).
Methods: clinical and US data of 119 consecutive patients with moderate/severe PsO and nonspecific musculoskeletal symptoms, were included in this retrospective study.

Rapidly identifying Anopheles-carrying malaria parasites is crucial for imported malaria prevention. However, suitable methods still lack quick detection in limited-resource situations. In this study, disc microfluidic isothermal amplification integrating loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) and microfluidic chip technology were applied to develop rapid and precise detection with low resource requirements.

Neuromuscular disorders (NMD) with neonatal or early infantile onset are usually severe and differ in symptoms, complications, and treatment options. The establishment of a diagnosis relies on the combination of clinical examination, morphological analyses of muscle biopsies, and genetic investigations. Here, we re-evaluated and classified a unique collection of 535 muscle biopsies from NMD infants aged 0-6 months examined over a period of 52 years.

Background: Analysis of the content of the gut of fish helps in the understanding of their inter- and intra-specific interactions, fish behaviour, condition and energy intake. The stomach contents of the commercially important neritic tuna species of Sri Lanka, kawakawa (Euthynnus affinis), frigate tuna (Auxis thazard) and bullet tuna (Auxis rochei) were analysed to determine their feeding habits and to identify prey species.
Methods And Results: The weighed stomachs of fish were dissected to reveal the types of prey found within.

Generating high quality histopathology images like immunohistochemistry (IHC) stained images is essential for precise diagnosis and the advancement of computer-aided diagnostic (CAD) systems. Producing IHC images in laboratory is quite expensive and time consuming. Recently, some attempts have been made based on artificial intelligence techniques (particularly, deep learning) to generate IHC images.
