Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD), an X-linked neuromuscular disorder, characterised by progressive immobility, chronic inflammation and premature death, is caused by the loss of the mechano-transducing signalling molecule, dystrophin. In non-contracting cells, such as neurons, dystrophin is likely to have a functional role in synaptic plasticity, anchoring post-synaptic receptors. Dystrophin-expressing hippocampal neurons are key to cognitive functions such as emotions, learning and the consolidation of memories.

Ras gene is frequently mutated in cancer. Among different subtypes of Ras gene, K-Ras mutation occurs in nearly 30 % of human cancers. K-Ras mutation, specifically K-Ras (G12D) mutation is prevalent in cancers like lung, colon and pancreatic cancer.

Interplay between energy metabolism and NADPH oxidase-mediated pathophysiology in cardiovascular diseases.

Sustained production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and an imbalance in the antioxidant system have been implicated in the development of cardiovascular diseases (CVD), especially when combined with diabetes, hypercholesterolemia, and other metabolic disorders. Among them, NADPH oxidases (NOX), including NOX1-5, are major sources of ROS that mediate redox signaling in both physiological and pathological processes, including fibrosis, hypertrophy, and remodeling. Recent studies have demonstrated that mitochondria produce more proteins and energy in response to adverse stress, corresponding with an increase in superoxide radical anions.

The growing demand for efficient, stable, and environmentally friendly photovoltaic technologies has motivated the exploration of nontoxic perovskite materials such as KGeCl. However, the performance of KGeCl-based perovskite solar cells (PSCs) depends heavily on the compatibility of charge transport layers (CTLs) and optimization of device parameters. In this study, six PSC configurations were simulated using SCAPS-1D software, incorporating CTLs such as Alq, CSTO, VO, PB, and SbS.

Recent studies indicate that central administration of oxytocin (OT) reduces body weight (BW) in high fat diet-induced obese (DIO) rodents by reducing energy intake and increasing energy expenditure (EE). Previous studies in our lab have shown that administration of OT into the fourth ventricle (4V; hindbrain) elicits weight loss and stimulates interscapular brown adipose tissue temperature (T) in DIO rats. We hypothesized that OT-elicited stimulation of sympathetic nervous system (SNS) activation of IBAT contributes to its ability to activate BAT and reduce BW in DIO rats.
