Background: Oliguric acute kidney injury (AKI) is one of the critical conditions which needs emergent treatment due to the lack of the capacity of excreting toxins and fluids, and plasma membrane bleb formation is considered as one of the characteristic morphologic alterations in ischemic AKI in both animal models and human. We present here an autopsy case with clear electron microscopy images capturing a definitive instance of blebbing in ischemic AKI.
Case Presentation: A 66-year-old man was admitted for oliguric AKI with nephrotic syndrome (NS).

Myelomeningocele (MMC) is a congenital defect of the spine characterized by meningeal and spinal cord protrusion through open vertebral archs, and its exposure to the amniotic fluid. Given that the progression of neuronal loss begins early in fetal life, an early coverage of the defect is required to improve the neurological outcomes. Several studies have proposed patches as an alternative to full surgical repair, to achieve an early protection of the spine and possibly reduce the rate of complications of current prenatal surgical procedures.

Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM), the most prevalent primary malignant brain tumor in adults, exhibits a dismal 6.9% five-year survival rate post-diagnosis. Thymoquinone (TQ), the most abundant bioactive compound in Nigella sativa, has been extensively researched for its anticancer properties across various human cancers.

Osteoporosis is the most common bone metabolic unbalance, leading to fragility fractures, which are known to be associated with structural changes in the bone. Cortical bone accounts for 80 % of the skeleton mass and undergoes remodeling throughout life, leading to changes in its thickness and microstructure. Although many studies quantified the different cortical bone structures using CT techniques (3D), they are often realised on a small number of samples.

Introduction: Quantitative neuromorphometry analysis of the peripheral nerve is paramount to nerve regeneration research. However, this technique relies upon accurate segmentation and determination of myelin and axonal area. Manual histological analysis methods are time- consuming, and subject to error and bias.
