State Key Laboratory of Oncology in South China, Guangdong Provincial Clinical Research Center for Cancer, Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center, Guangzhou 510060, P. R. China; Department of Head and Neck Surgery, Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center, Guangzhou, China. Electronic address:

Differentiated thyroid cancer (DTC) generally has a favorable prognosis, and radioactive iodine (RAI) therapy is typically used for metastatic DTC that continues to progress and poses life-threatening risks. However, resistance to RAI in metastatic DTC significantly impairs treatment effectiveness. This study aims to identify potential compounds that may influence RAI efficacy.

Coal-bearing kaolinite-based plant growth-promoting fertilizer with integrated slow-release and water-retention properties.

Sci Total Environ

January 2025

Engineering Research Center of Ministry of Education for Geological Carbon Storage and Low Carbon Utilization of Resources, Beijing Key Laboratory of Materials Utilization of Nonmetallic Minerals and Solid Wastes, National Laboratory of Mineral Materials, School of Materials Science and Technology, China University of Geosciences, Beijing 100083, China.

The development of ecological fertilizers has become crucial in modern agriculture due to the increasing global population and diminishing arable land resources. Herein, a plant growth-promoting fertilizer (UKS) with dual functions of slow-release and water-retention was prepared by combining liquid-phase intercalation method and crosslinking gel method. The physicochemical properties of UKS were analyzed and its dissolution, slow-release, and water-retention properties were systematically evaluated.

Background: This study aimed to assess the histological and radiographic effects of sodium hexametaphosphate (SHMP) as a direct pulp capping (DPC) agent in immature permanent dog premolars.

Methods: A split-mouth design was employed with three healthy 4-month-old Mongrel dogs, each having 36 premolars. The premolars were randomly assigned to either SHMP or MTA.

Departamento de Toxicología, Centro de Investigación y de Estudios Avanzados del Instituto Politécnico Nacional, AvInstituto Politécnico Nacional 2508, Col San Pedro ZacatencoCDMX, C.P. 07360, Mexico City, Mexico.

Fluoride is emitted into the air not only through gas emissions but also from volcanic ash, leading to contact via inhalation. Therefore, the objective of the present study was to evaluate the cellular and biochemical responses in the A549 cell line after exposure to NaF (sodium fluoride) concentrations lower than those previously used in other studies to determine the impact on the lung epithelium. A549 cells were exposed to different concentrations (0.

Gastrointestinal absorption and its regulation of hawthorn leaves flavonoids.

Sci Rep

January 2025

School of Pharmacy, Fudan University, 826 Zhangheng Road, Shanghai, 201203, P.R. China.

Hawthorn leave flavonoids (HLF) are widely used as an herb or dietary supplements for cardio-cerebrovascular diseases. However, its gastrointestinal absorption behavior and mechanism have not been disclosed. In this study, gastrointestinal absorption and its regulation of 4''-O-glucosylvitexin (GLV), 2''-O-rhamnosylvitexin (RHV), vitexin (VIT), rutin (RUT) and hyperoside (HP) in HLF were investigated using in vitro, in situ and in vivo models.
