Background: The neural mechanisms and long-term effects of perceived stress (PS) and self-control (SC) on mental health (MH) are not fully understood. This study seeks to investigate the influence of PS and SC on MH and to identify their neural correlates using fMRI.
Methods: A total of 817 college students participated in behavioral assessments, including the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS), Self-Control Scale (SCS), and Mental Health Continuum Short Form (MHC-SF).

Hypomanic personality traits (HPT) are susceptibility markers for psychiatric disorders, particularly bipolar disorder, and are strongly associated with aggressive behaviors. However, the neuropsychological mechanisms underlying this association remain unclear. This study utilized psychometric network analysis and (IS-RSA) to explore the neuropsychological circuits that link HPT to aggression in a large non-clinical population.

The Cry1Fa insecticidal protein from (Bt) was expressed on the surface of (Bs) spores to create transgenic Bs spores referred to as Spore-Cry1Fa. Cry1Fa, along with its leader sequence, was connected to the carboxyl end of a Bs spore outercoat protein, CotC, through a flexible linker. The Arg-27 residue of the Cry1Fa protein was mutated to Leu to prevent detachment from the spores due to protease digestion.

Background: Non-thyroidal illness syndrome is commonly observed in critically ill patients, characterized by the inactivation of systemic thyroid hormones (TH), which aggravates metabolic dysfunction. Recent evidence indicates that enhanced TH inactivation is mediated by the reactivation of type 3 deiodinase (Dio3) at the tissue level, culminating in a perturbed local metabolic equilibrium. This study assessed whether targeted inhibition of Dio3 can maintain tissue metabolic homeostasis under septic conditions and explored the mechanism behind Dio3 reactivation.
