Molecular vibrations of acetylacetone enol. Infrared polarization spectroscopy and theoretical predictions.

Spectrochim Acta A Mol Biomol Spectrosc

December 2024

Department of Science and Environment, Roskilde University, Universitetsvej 1, P.O. Box 260, DK-4000 Roskilde, Denmark. Electronic address:

The IR polarization spectrum of acetylacetone enol (AAe, (3Z)-4-hydroxy-3-penten-2-one) was recorded in the region 2000 - 450 cm using stretched polyethylene as an anisotropic solvent. The measured orientation factors were consistent with C molecular symmetry of AAe and provided an experimental distinction between in-plane and out-of-plane polarized spectral features. The results suggest the assignment of at least one previously unrecognized fundamental transition.

Tailored Multifaceted Strategy for Implementing Fundamental Evidence-Based Nursing Care: An Evaluation Study.

Nurs Rep

December 2024

Department of Internal Medicine, Copenhagen University Hospital Herlev and Gentofte, Gentofte Hospitalsvej 2, 2nd. Floor, DK-2900 Hellerup, Denmark.

: Extensive research has emphasised the persistent challenges and failures in providing hospitalised patients with fundamental evidence-based nursing care, often resulting in grave consequences for patient safety. Recommendations from implementation research indicate that a tailored theory- and research-based implementation strategy targeting contextual determinants can optimise the implementation of evidence-based clinical practice for the benefit of patients. This study evaluated the feasibility of an implementation strategy designed to improve the quality of nursing care by targeting behavioural and environmental barriers in a hospital setting.

Recently unearthed Tinhui Medical Slips, dating back to 2nd century BCE, demonstrates the 12th meridian in Chinese medicine as an anatomy-based discovery. This is equivalent to the persistent median artery, which was later incorporated into Neijing meridian theory and set the foundation for traditional acupuncture today.

Department of Medical Statistics, School of Public Health, Sun Yat-sen University, 74 Zhongshan 2nd Road, 510080, Yuexiu District, Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, People's Republic of China.

Background: Cognition, behaviours and social environment are associated with Clonorchis sinensis infection, a prevalent liver fluke disease in China. This study aimed to use social cognitive theory (SCT) to investigate these three aspects and their interaction in an endemic area.

Methods: We conducted three semi-structured focus group discussions in Da'ao town, Jiangmen city, Guangdong Province, China.

The "streamline flow" of the portal vein (PV) is a controversial yet well-known theory presented almost 125 years ago. It states that blood from the superior mesenteric vein (SMV) goes preferentially to the right liver lobe, while splenic and inferior mesenteric veins divert blood predominantly to the left lobe, affecting this way the metastatic distribution of colorectal cancer (CRC). The aim of this systematic review is to assess its validity by examining and combining all the relevant literature with a critical eye.
