The inversion effect in biological motion suggests that presenting a point-light display (PLD) in an inverted orientation impairs the observer's ability to perceive the movement, likely due to the observer's unfamiliarity with the dynamic characteristics of inverted motion. Vertical dancers (VDs), accustomed to performing and perceiving others to perform dance movements in an inverted orientation while being suspended in the air, offer a unique perspective on this phenomenon. A previous study showed that VDs were more sensitive to the artificial inversion of PLDs depicting dance movements when compared to typical and non-dancers if given sufficient dynamic information.

Background: High-field magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a powerful diagnostic tool but can induce unintended physiological effects, such as nystagmus and dizziness, potentially compromising the comfort and safety of individuals undergoing imaging. These effects likely result from the Lorentz force, which arises from the interaction between the MRI's static magnetic field and electrical currents in the inner ear. Yet, the Lorentz force hypothesis fails to explain observed eye movement patterns in healthy adults fully.

Introduction: Recent studies by us and others have unveiled a frequent coexistence of idiopathic normal pressure hydrocephalus (iNPH) with neurodegenerative movement disorders, including progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP). This study aims to explore the clinical and radiological characteristics of patients with iNPH who also had comorbid with PSP, referred to as iNPHc + PSP.

Methods: We retrospectively analyzed patients with iNPH admitted to our department between 2009 and 2024.

The Impact of Virtual Reality Content Characteristics on Cybersickness and Head Movement Patterns.

Sensors (Basel)

Virtual reality (VR) technology has gained popularity across various fields; however, its use often induces cybersickness, characterized by symptoms such as dizziness, nausea, and eye strain. This study investigated the differences in cybersickness levels and head movement patterns under three distinct VR viewing conditions: dynamic VR (DVR), static VR (SVR), and a control condition (CON) using a simulator. Thirty healthy adults participated, and their head movements were recorded using the Meta Quest 2 VR headset and analyzed using Python.
