Objective: Heavy metal pollution is one of the more recent problems of environmental degradation caused by rapid industrialization and human activity. The objective of this study was to isolate, screen, and characterize heavy metal-resistant bacteria from solid waste disposal sites.
Methods: In this study, a total of 18 soil samples were randomly selected from mechanical sites, metal workshops, and agricultural land that received wastewater irrigation.

Carbonic anhydrases (CAs) are ubiquitous enzymes that catalyze reversibly both the hydration and dehydration reactions of CO and HCO-, respectively. Higher plants contain many different isoforms of CAs that can be classified into α-, β- and γ-type subfamilies. β-type CAs play a key role in the CO-concentrating mechanism, thereby contributing to efficient photosynthesis in the C plants in addition to many other biochemical reactions in plant metabolism.

Background: Type I myocardial infarction (T1MI) or type II myocardial infarction (T2MI) have different underlying mechanisms; however, in the setting of cardiogenic shock (CS), it is not understood if patients experience resultantly different outcomes. The objective of this study was to determine clinical features, biomarker patterns, and outcomes in these subgroups.
Methods: Patients from the CAPITAL-DOREMI trial presenting with acute myocardial infarction-associated CS (n = 103) were classified as T1MI (n = 61) or T2MI (n = 42).

Background: Rickets is a common metabolic bone disease in children, primarily caused by vitamin D deficiency. This study aimed to compare the efficacy of oral weekly vitamin D supplementation and injectable stoss therapy in treating nutritional rickets in Indian children.
Methods: This prospective, randomized, controlled trial was conducted over 18 months at a tertiary care center.
