Hearing loss is one of the most common sensory disorders in humans, and a large number of cases are due to ear cell damage caused by ototoxic drugs including anticancer agents, such as cisplatin. The recent literature reported that hearing loss is promoted by an excessive generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) in cochlea cells, which causes oxidative stress. Recently, polysaccharides from the cyanobacterium showed many biological activities, including antioxidant activity, suggesting their potential use to combat hearing loss.

This study aimed to evaluate the diagnostic potential of soluble Programmed Death Ligand 1 (sPD-L1) and Programmed Death 1 (sPD-1) molecules in plasma, along with urinary mRNA biomarkers-Prostate-Specific Membrane Antigen (), Prostate Cancer Antigen 3 (), and androgen receptor () genes-for identifying clinically significant prostate cancer (PCa), defined as pathological stage 3. In a cohort of 68 PCa patients, sPD-L1 and sPD-1 levels were quantified using ELISA, while mRNA transcripts were measured by RT-qPCR. Results highlight the potential of integrating these liquid-based biomarkers.

Aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (aSAH) is a serious condition complicated by delayed cerebral ischemia (DCI), where inflammation plays a key role. Although altered gut permeability is noted in other conditions, its significance in aSAH remains unclear. Fatty acid-binding protein (FABP-I), lipopolysaccharide-binding protein (LBP), and soluble CD-14 (sCD-14) are established markers of barrier dysfunction.

Cholangiocarcinoma (CCA) represents approximately 3% of all gastrointestinal cancers and is a highly heterogeneous and aggressive malignancy originating from the epithelial cells of the biliary tree. CCA is classified by anatomical location into intrahepatic (iCCA), extrahepatic (eCCA), gallbladder cancer (GBC), and ampullary cancers. Although considered a rare tumor, CCA incidence has risen globally, particularly due to the increased diagnosis of iCCA.

In recent years, the consumption of liquid eggs has failed to meet the expectations of the public due to growing concerns regarding food safety and health. It is well known that there are interactions between the components in liquid eggs, and the interaction effect on the structure and functional properties of the proteins and antigenicity remains unclear. To investigate egg component interactions, we focused on four major egg lipids, namely phosphatidylcholine, palmitic acid, oleic acid, and linoleic acid, as well as four major egg proteins, including ovalbumin, ovotransferrin, ovomucoid, and lysozyme.
