Introduction: Patients with food allergies need personalized information on their risk of reaction in "real-life" situations. This multicentric study aimed to investigate the link during accidental reactions between the nature and amount of food allergens consumed in "real-life situation" and the severity of the symptoms.
Methods: Patients were prospectively recruited from December 1, 2020, to December 31, 2021, at the emergency departments in the Geneva University Hospitals and local pediatric emergency facilities, through an allergy outpatient clinic, at school and daycare facilities and trough their primary care physicians.

Caprine livestock are significant reservoirs of the complex (MTBC), contributing to tuberculosis (TB) transmission among animals and humans. The P22 protein immunocomplex (P22PI), derived from bovine tuberculin, shows immunostimulating capacity and is used for TB diagnosis. This study assessed the immunogenicity and protective efficacy of P22PI in two groups of goats: 24 naïve goats (12 immunised, 12 controls) from a TB-free herd, and 24 infected goats (12 immunised, 12 controls), referred to as pre-infected animals, from a -infected herd.

Biofilm formation in long-distance water conveyance pipelines poses significant risks to water quality, particularly under varying nutrient levels and heavy metal stress. However, the impacts of pipeline material on biofilm formation dynamics under different raw water conditions remain elusive. This study investigated the effects of nutrient availability and Fe-Mn stress on biofilm development, structural stability, bacterial community composition, and the occurrence of viable but non-culturable (VBNC) bacteria.

Sessile droplets on functionalized substrates have demonstrated potential as micro-reactors for antibody-antigen binding, reducing detection time and analyte volume due to the presence of convective currents. Tuning the surface charges by adjusting buffer pH can modulate antigen capture efficiency.

Exosomes, extracellular vesicles (EVs) with an average size of 50-150 nm, transfer various biomolecules and exchange signaling molecules between cells in a paracrine manner. Molecular investigations have revealed that EVs can reflect real-time metabolic changes in normal- and cancer-origin cells and thus harbor valid diagnostic biomarkers. Despite these advantages, the detection of low concentrations of cancer cell EVs in biological fluids is still a great challenge.
