The ultrastructural organization of the nuclei of the tegmental region in juvenile chum salmon () was examined using transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The dorsal tegmental nuclei (DTN), the nucleus of (NFLM), and the nucleus of the oculomotor nerve (NIII) were studied. The ultrastructural examination provided detailed ultrastructural characteristics of neurons forming the tegmental nuclei and showed neuro-glial relationships in them.

Previously, it was found that four types of glandular trichomes (GTs) are developed on the surface of all aerial organs in Doronicum species. A detailed study of leaves had shown that only two types of GTs form in them. Nothing was known about any differences of GTs on vegetative and reproductive organs.

Objectives: Hydroxyapatite (HAp)/collagen (Col) cylinders with laminated collagen layers were implanted into the tibial diaphysis of rats and examined histochemically to clarify how the orientation of HAp and Col bone-like nanocomposite fibers in HAp/Col blocks affects bone resorption and formation.
Methods: HAp/Col fibers were synthesized and compressed into cylindrical blocks to mimic bone nanostructures. These were implanted into the cortical bone cavities of 10-week-old male Wistar rats with fiber bundles parallel to the tibial surface.

It was assumed that only autogenous bone had appropriate osteoconductive and osteoindutive properties for bone regeneration, but this assumption has been challenged. Many studies have shown that synthetic biomaterials must be considered as the best choice for guided bone regeneration. The objective of this work is to compare the performances of nanohydroxyapatite/β-tricalcium phosphate (n-HA/β-TCP) composite and autogenous bone grafting in bone regeneration applications.

Mitochondria play a crucial role in maintaining cellular health. It is interesting that the shape of mitochondria can vary depending on the type of cell, mitochondrial function, and other cellular conditions. However, there are limited studies that link functional assessment with mitochondrial morphology evaluation at high magnification, even fewer that do so in situ and none in human muscle biopsies.
