Dry powders offer the potential to increase stability and reduce cold-chain requirements associated with the distribution of vaccines and other thermally sensitive products. The Alberta Idealized Nasal Inlet (AINI) is a representative geometry for characterization of nasal products that may prove useful in examining intranasal delivery of powders. Spray-dried trehalose powders were loaded at 10, 20, and 40 mg doses into active single-dose devices.

Mechanistically based non-animal methods for assessing skin sensitization hazard have been developed, but are not considered sufficient, individually, to conclusively define the skin sensitization potential or potency of a chemical. This resulted in the development of defined approaches (DAs), as documented in OECD TG 497, for combining information sources in a prescriptive manner to provide a determination of risk or potency. However, there are currently no DAs within OECD TG 497 that can derive a point of departure (POD) for risk assessment.

Purpose: Mitochondrial dysfunction mediated by c-Jun N-terminal kinase (JNK) plays an important role in lipotoxic liver injury in nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). This study aims to investigate the pharmacological mechanism of Jiangzhi Granule (JZG), a Chinese herbal formula against NASH, with a focus on its regulation of JNK signaling-mediated mitochondrial function.

Methods: Hepatocytes were induced by palmitic acid (PA) for 24 h to establish an in vitro lipotoxic model, which was simultaneously treated with either JZG or vehicle control.

Chimeric antigen receptor-transduced T (CAR-T) cell therapy is an effective cell therapy against advanced hematological tumors. However, the use of autologous T cells limits its timely and universal generation. Allogeneic CAR-T cell therapy may be a good alternative as a ready-to-use therapeutic.
