Hemodialysis (HD) is a life-sustaining therapy as well as an intermittent and repetitive stress condition for the patient. In ridding the blood of unwanted substances and excess fluid from the blood, the extracorporeal procedure simultaneously induces persistent physiological changes that adversely affect several organs. Dialysis patients experience this systemic stress condition usually thrice weekly and sometimes more frequently depending on the treatment schedule.

Perspectives of future water sources in Qatar by phytoremediation: biodiversity at ponds and modern approach.

Anthropogenic and industrial wastewater (IWW) could be an additional future source of water to support the needs of the people of the State of Qatar. New lagoons have been built using modern technologies to optimize water use and waste recycling, as well as increasing the green spaces around the country. To achieve successful development of these new lagoons, lessons should be learned from the old ponds by examining their biodiversity, ecology, and the roles played by aquatic plants and algae to remediate wastewaters at these ponds.

Possession divestment by sales in later life.

Residential relocation in later life is almost always a downsizing, with many possessions to be divested in a short period of time. This article examines older movers' capacities for selling things, and ways that selling attenuates people's ties to those things, thus accomplishing the human dis-possession of the material convoy. In qualitative interviews in 79 households in the Midwestern United States, older adults reported their experience with possession sales associated with residential relocation.

Objective: This study explores the perceptions of patients receiving treatment for Hepatitis C to determine what factors influence their decision to commence treatment, ability to maintain adherence and complete their treatment program.

Design: Semi-structured interview techniques were used in a qualitative study of 20 patients undergoing treatment for Chronic Hepatitis C (CHC).

Main Outcome Measures: To explore patients' perceived barriers and facilitators of Hepatitis C treatment adherence and completion.
