In this study, DL-phenylalanine modified with a multiwall carbon nanotube paste electrode is used as advanced electrochemical sensor for analysing of 0.1 mM caffeic acid (CFA) with simultaneous detection of riboflavin (RFN). The developed sensors include electrochemically polymerized DL-phenylalanine (DL-PA) modified multiwall carbon nanotube paste electrode [DL-PAMMCNTPE] and bare multiwall carbon nanotube paste electrode [BMCNTPE].

Background: It has been reported that phenylalanine (Phe)-restricted diets may have negative effects on bone health in patients with classical phenylketonuria (cPKU). We aimed to evaluate bone mineral density (BMD) in adults with cPKU and determine the risk factors associated with low BMD.
Methods: Eighty adult patients with cPKU were examined, including 41 women and 39 men.

The objective of this study was to characterize the nutritional profile of plant-based meat alternatives (PBMA) and ground beef (GB). Beyond Beef (BEY); Impossible Burger (IMP), a third available product of plant-based protein, including SWEET EARTH, Incogmeato, Open Nature, and Good & Gather (GEN); and two lean levels of GB (regular [80%-85% lean, regular ground beef] and Lean [>93% lean, lean ground beef, LGB]) were purchased from retail stores across the United States. Proximate composition, mineral content, fatty acid profile, amino acid profile, and B-vitamin content were measured in raw products.

Introduction: Phenylketonuria (PKU), an inborn error of metabolism, when inadequately treated, may lead to nutritional deficits, which could affect bone health. This remains a controversial issue, given that in the majority of PKU cases, bone mineral density is within normal limits. On the other hand, WNT1 mutations are detrimental for bone, as they lead to primary osteoporosis.
