Background: Venous thromboembolism (VTE) is a major health problem worldwide. There are scarce data on the recent temporal trends of patients with VTE after the widespread use of direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs).
Methods And Results: In a Japanese nationwide hospital administrative database, we identified 20,217 patients with VTE from 2017 to 2023, and evaluated their temporal trends in management strategies and clinical outcomes.
Current research status on the structure, physicochemical properties, bioactivities, and mechanism of soybean-derived bioactive peptide lunasin.

Since the 21st century, chronic diseases have become a worldwide health problem due to their high morbidity and mortality. Soybean bioactive substances, especially soybean peptides, are considered to have health benefits beyond nutritional effects. As the most studied peptide in soybean, lunasin has been proven to exert beneficial effects on various chronic disorders.

This review paper presents a critical analysis of global research on the liquid fraction of food waste (FW) digestate. The study found that research on FW liquid fraction management accounted for 43% of the literature, followed by treatment methods (26%) and physical-chemical characterization (22%). By 2023, China led in scientific production on FW liquid fraction, contributing 46%, followed by Poland with 10% and the USA with 8%.

Three-dimensional (3D) culture systems, which include spheroids (SPs), provide a unique platform for studying complex biological processes in vivo and for enhancing the capabilities of in vitro test systems. Their uniqueness lies in the 3D organization of cells and in the reproduction of complex intercellular interactions, similar to those in native tissues and organs. These mini-organs can be used for fundamental research, tissue-engineering constructs, development of preclinical models for testing pharmacological drugs, etc.
