Spreading depolarization (SD) temporarily shuts down neural processing in mammals and insects. Age is a critical factor for predicting the consequences of SD in humans. We investigated the effect of aging in an insect model of SD and explored the contribution of oxidative stress.

This paper reports a rapid and sensitive sensor for the detection and quantification of the COVID-19 N-protein (N-PROT) via an electrochemical mechanism. Single-frequency electrochemical impedance spectroscopy was used as a transduction method for real-time measurement of the N-PROT in an immunosensor system based on gold-conjugate-modified carbon screen-printed electrodes (Cov-Ag-SPE). The system presents high selectivity attained through an optimal stimulation signal composed of a 0.

Organic-inorganic hybrid nanocomposites (OIHN), with tailored surface chemistry, offer ultra-sensitive architecture capable of detecting ultra-low concentrations of target analytes with precision. In the present work, a novel nano-biosensor was fabricated, acquainting dynamic synergy of reduced graphene oxide (rGO) decorated hexagonal boron nitride nanosheets (hBNNS) for detection of carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA). Extensive spectroscopic and microscopic analyses confirmed the successful hydrothermal synthesis of cross-linked rGO-hBNNS nanocomposite.

Spreading depression (SD), a pathological cortical negative DC potential, is caused by an elevation of potassium ions in the extracellular space. This leads to a transient relocation of ions within neurons and a slow spread through brain tissue. Our previous research established a correlation between scalp SD and seizures in patients with intractable epilepsy using our novel electroencephalography (EEG).

We report the results of studies related to the fabrication of a nanostructured graphene oxide (GO)-based electrochemical genosensor for neonatal sepsis detection. Initially, we selected the gene of for nenonatal sepsis detection and further designed a 20-mer long amine-terminated oligonucleotide. This designed oligonucleotide will work as a bioreceptor for the detection of the virulent gene.
