Background: Vibrio parahaemolyticus is a marine bacterium causing seafood-associated gastrointestinal illness in humans and acute hepatopancreatic necrosis disease (AHPND) in shrimp. Bacteriophages have emerged as promising biocontrol agents against V. parahaemolyticus.

Background: Mycobacterium abscessus (MABS) causes difficult-to-treat pulmonary and extra-pulmonary infections. A combination therapy comprising amikacin, cefoxitin, and a macrolide agent is recommended, but its antimicrobial activity and clinical efficacy is uncertain. Inducible resistance to macrolides (macrolides-iR) has been associated with poor clinical response in pulmonary infections, whilst for extra-pulmonary infections data are scarce.

We have previously developed a transcription-based bacterial three-hybrid (B3H) assay as a genetic approach to probe RNA-protein interactions inside of E. coli cells. This system offers a straightforward path to identify and assess the consequences of mutations in RBPs with molecular phenotypes of interest.

Existing mortar uses self-healing powders that are based on mineral admixtures, whose reactive nature negatively impacts bacterial viability and diminishes their effectiveness over time. This study aims to develop non-reactive, sustainable biochar-based healing powders with extended bacterial viability to serve as self-healing admixture in bio-mortar. Biochar from coconut husk, coconut shell, and coconut leaf petiole was evaluated for compatibility with Bacillus pumilus RSB17, emphasizing bacterial growth and calcium carbonate precipitation.

Cyclodextrin metal-organic frameworks (CD-MOFs) with infinitely extensible network structures show potential applications in lithium metal batteries. However, the disordered accumulation of CD-MOF particles leads to slow interparticle diffusion of ions, so the CD-MOF composite electrolytes are needed to be developed. In addition, the influences of CD-MOFs structure on the electrochemical performance of the composite electrolytes remains unclear.
