The main objective of this study was to investigate the optimal post-left atrial appendage closure (LAAC) anticoagulation strategy, focusing on minimizing device-related thrombosis (DRT) and thromboembolism (TE) events without increasing bleeding risk. After successful LAAC, consecutive participants were treated with 45-day anticoagulants (rivaroxaban 15 mg daily, dabigatran 110 mg twice a day, and warfarin). The efficacy endpoints included DRT, TE, and hospital readmissions due to cardiac caused, while safety endpoints encompassed bleeding events, monitored over a 12-month follow-up period.

Optimal vein access selection in adrenal vein sampling via upper extremity approach: a retrospective analysis of 325 cases.

Sci Rep

January 2025

Department of Cardiovascular, The Second Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University, No. 74, Linjiang Road, Yuzhong District, Chongqing, 400010, China.

In order to provide some references for vein approach selection in adrenal vein sampling (AVS), this retrospective study analyzed 325 cases of primary aldosteronism (PA) patients who underwent AVS via the upper extremity vein approach, comparing the differences in complications and visual analogue scale (VAS) scores through median cubital vein (MCV), basilic vein (BV), and cephalic vein (CV). The results indicated no significant difference in the incidence of venous spasm (right MCV vs. right BV vs.

Device endothelialization and morphology assessments at 1 year using computed tomography angiography: comparison of traditional with novel puncturable atrial septal defect occluders.

BMC Cardiovasc Disord

December 2024

Department of Cardiology, Zhongshan Hospital, Fudan University, National Clinical Research Center for Interventional Medicine, Shanghai Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases, 180 Fenglin Road, Xuhui District, Shanghai, 200032, China.

Background: Complete endothelialization is often not achieved within 6 months after implantation of an atrial septal defect (ASD) occluder, which may lead to microthrombus or thrombosis. This study aimed to assess the endothelialization and morphology of a novel puncturable ASD occluder (ReAces) compared with traditional occluders 1 year post-implantation using computed tomography angiography (CTA).

Methods: Fifteen patients from each group in a randomized controlled trial comparing ReAces with traditional occluders were included at the 1-year follow-up at Zhongshan Hospital, Fudan University.

Objective: This study aimed to compare the efficacy and safety of intravascular ultrasound (IVUS)-guided coronary intravascular lithotripsy and rotational atherectomy in treating severe coronary artery calcification.

Methods: A retrospective analysis of 60 patients who underwent percutaneous coronary intervention at the General Hospital of Ningxia Medical University from October 2022 to August 2023 was conducted. The patients were divided into two groups: 30 received IVUS-guided coronary intravascular lithotripsy and 30 underwent IVUS-guided rotational atherectomy.

Objective: To evaluate the mid-term results of endovascular revascularization of the lower extremities through primary retrograde distal approach.

Material And Methods: We prospectively analyzed the mid-term results of 74 endovascular surgeries via primary retrograde distal approach in 69 patients with lower extremity ischemia. Mean age of patients was 68.
