Background: Breast carcinoma stands out as the most widespread invasive cancer and the top contributor to cancer-related mortality in women. Nanoparticles have emerged as promising tools in cancer detection, diagnosis, and prevention. In this study, the antitumor and apoptotic capability of silver nanoparticles synthesized through Scrophularia striata extract (AgNPs-SSE) was investigated toward breast cancer cells.

Background: Painful left bundle branch block (LBBB) syndrome is an uncommon disease that is defined as intermittent episodes of angina associated with simultaneous LBBB changes on an electrocardiogram (ECG) with the absence of flow-limiting coronary artery disease or ischemia on functional testing. Vasovagal syncope (VVS) is the most common cause of syncope and can be provoked by sublingual nitroglycerin (NTG). Herein, we report a case of painful LBBB syndrome complicated with VVS, which was misdiagnosed as acute coronary syndrome and cardiogenic shock.

Oncolytic virotherapy is a promising approach for cancer treatment. However, when introduced into the body, the virus provokes the production of virus-neutralizing antibodies, which can reduce its antitumor effect. To shield viruses from the immune system, aptamers that can cover the membrane of the viral particle are used.

Background: Gonorrhea, induced by Neisseria gonorrhoeae infection, stands as a prevalent sexually transmitted inflammatory disease globally. Our earlier research illuminated that N. gonorrhoeae-infected macrophages provoke inflammation by activating the intracellular sensor NACHT, LRR, and PYD domain-containing protein 3 (NLRP3) inflammasome, a pivotal regulator in inflammatory diseases governing the maturation and secretion of interleukin (IL)-1β and IL-18.
