Background: Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a common gastrointestinal disorder seen by both primary care providers (PCPs) and gastroenterologists, and further diagnostic testing is generally discouraged unless red-flag symptoms are present.
Aims: Examine if advanced serologic testing for chronic abdominal pain in IBS patients followed society-specific guidelines and evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of these tests.
Methods: The study involved a retrospective cross-sectional analysis of adults aged 18 and older who were seen at our institution between 2013 and 2018.

Important cell-based models of intestinal inflammation have been advanced in hopes of predicting the impact of nanoparticles on disease. We sought to determine whether a high level and extended exposure of nanoplastic might result in the added intestinal inflammation caused by nanoplastic reported in a mouse model of irritable bowel disease. The cell models consist of a Transwell©-type insert with a filter membrane upon which lies a biculture monolayer of Caco-2 and HT29-MTX-E12 made up the barrier cells (apical compartment).

Background: The study aimed to comprehensively analyze and establish a framework for evaluating the efficacy of microbiome-targeted treatment (MTT) for depression.
Methods: We searched PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, Web of Science, and the Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure database for randomized controlled trials (RCTs) on MTT in treating depression until October 19, 2023. A meta-analysis was conducted to evaluate the efficacy and safety of MTT.

Background: Visceral pain sensitization and emotional reactions due to irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) occur frequently in the general population. Oxidative stress plays a crucial role in the pathogenesis of IBS. Previous studies have demonstrated that activation of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma (PPARγ) has analgesic effects.

Ethnopharmacological Relevance: Mukta Pishti (MKP) is a traditional Ayurvedic medicine described in classical textbook 'Rasatarangini' and synthesized from marine pearls following classical methodology. MKP is used as therapeutic medicine against hyperacidity, irritable bowel syndrome, and gastric ulcers.
Aim Of The Study: Here, we explored the therapeutic properties of MKP in alleviating peptic ulcer in male Wistar rat model of pylorus ligation.
