Introduction The internet age has broadened the horizons of modern medicine, and the ever-increasing scope of artificial intelligence (AI) has made information about healthcare, common pathologies, and available treatment options much more accessible to the wider population. Patient autonomy relies on clear, accurate, and user-friendly information to give informed consent to an intervention. Our paper aims to outline the quality, readability, and accuracy of readily available information produced by AI relating to common foot and ankle procedures.

Background: The penile suspensory ligament (PSL) plays a significant role in penile support and erection and its injury or congenital absence may result in functional impairment of erectile function.
Aim: To describe the diagnosis and surgical repair technique for PSL abnormalities and overall outcomes.
Methods: A comprehensive review of the literature was performed to understand the anatomic relevance of the PSL and historical management of PSL defects.

Fission yeast is the ideal model organism for studying telomere maintenance in higher eukaryotes. Telomere length has been directly correlated with life expectancy and the onset of aging-related diseases in mammals. In this study, we developed a novel simple, and reproducible method to measure the telomere length, by investigating the effect of caffeine and cisplatin on the telomere length in fission yeast.

Background: Whereas uncomplicated labral tears with preserved fibers can be effectively treated with use of labral repair techniques, complex tears and hypoplastic labra require labral reconstruction. Standard reconstruction techniques feature grafted tissue that is added to existing, deficient tissue or that is utilized to replace a hypoplastic labrum entirely. However, such approaches utilizing allografts or remote autografts are limited because they often necessitate extensive debridement of the existing labrum to prepare a site for graft implantation, an approach that can damage and devascularize the chondrolabral junction.

Covalent hydrogel networks suffer from a stiffness-toughness conflict, where increased crosslinking density enhances the modulus of the material but also leads to embrittlement and diminished extensibility. Recently, strategies have been developed to form highly entangled hydrogels, colloquially referred to as tanglemers, by optimizing polymerization conditions to maximize the density and length of polymer chains and minimize the crosslinker concentration. It is challenging to assess entanglements in crosslinked networks beyond approximating their theoretical contribution to mechanical properties; thus, in this work, we synthesize and characterize polyacrylamide tanglemers using a photolabile crosslinker, which allows for direct assessment of covalent trapping of entanglements under tension.
