Merkel cells are perceived as tactile receptors within skin and oral mucosa containing abundant intermediate filaments but lacking characteristic condensation of tonofilaments, hence are also referred to as non-keratinocytes. Merkel cell carcinomas (MCCs) are primary aggressive neuroendocrine neoplasms occurring in elderly individuals. Toker in 1972 reported MCC of skin pointing towards sweat glands as the source of origin which was later rectified by Tang with the aid of ultrastructural studies as Merkel cells to be a lineage of such tumours.

Objective: Aim: To determine the role of damage to the ultrastructural elements of the periodontal nervous system in the pathogenesis of dystrophic periodontal disease.
Patients And Methods: Materials and Methods: The basis of the experimental part of the study was the preparation of ultrathin sections from blocks of gum tissue of white rats, which were prepared using the UMTP-3M device. The study and analysis of biopsy samples was carried out with the help of an electron microscope UEMV-100K.

Scaffolds should provide structural support for tissue regeneration, allowing their gradual biodegradation and interacting with cells and bioactive molecules to promote remodeling. Thus, the scaffold's intrinsic properties affect cellular processes involved in tissue regeneration, including migration, proliferation, differentiation, and protein synthesis. In this sense, due to its biological effect and clinical potential, Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) fibrin could be considered a successful scaffold.

Objectives: To characterize phenotype and genotype of amelogenesis imperfecta (AI) in a Thai patient, and review of literature.
Materials And Methods: Variants were identified using trio-exome and Sanger sequencing. The ITGB6 protein level in patient's gingival cells was measured.

Cell spheroids are applied in various fields of research, such as the fabrication of three-dimensional artificial tissues in vitro, disease modeling, stem cell research, regenerative therapy, and biotechnology. A preclinical 3D culture model of primary human gingival fibroblasts free of external factors and/or chemical inducers is presented herein. The ultrastructure of the spheroids was characterized to establish a cellular model for the study of periodontal tissue regeneration.
