The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of a rumen-derived direct-fed microbial (DFM) product on performance, blood biomarkers, ruminal fermentation, and bacterial abundance in dairy cows during the transition period until 100 DIM. Fifty-six Holstein cows were enrolled in a randomized complete block design from -21 to 100 DIM. Cows were blocked based on expected calving date, parity, and previous lactation milk yield for multiparous or genetic merit for primiparous cows.

The objective of this study was to evaluate which biochemical markers in the prepartum period of dairy cows influence the immediate postpartum period, the quality of colostrum, and the passive immunity transference in the calves. The experiment was performed on a commercial dairy farm with 52 pregnant multiparous Holstein cows. Animals that gave birth to twins or males were discarded from the experiment.

Twin births in dairy cattle is generally unfavorably associated with reproductive performance and calf survival in dairy cows. Genetic selection to reduce twinning rate in dairy cattle may be desirable, provided no undesirable correlated responses in other traits exist. The current study was undertaken to characterize the genomic architecture of twinning rate in the Irish Holstein-Friesian population, and to quantify the genetic relationship of twinning with other reproductive traits and milk yield.

Reproductive traits in dairy cattle are crucial for herd productivity and profitability. This study investigates the influence of relatedness to high immune response (HIR) Immunity+ sires on reproductive performance indicators in Polish Holstein-Friesian cows. A total of 5094 cows were analyzed, categorized based on their relatedness to HIR Immunity+ sires, and assessed for various reproductive parameters, including age at first insemination, gestation length, days open, calving interval, and calving ease.
