Monitoring of genotoxic chemicals released into the water cycle or formed through transformation processes is critical to prevent harm to human health. The development of the high-performance thin-layer chromatography (HPTLC)-umu bioassay combines sample separation and detection of genotoxic substances in the low ng/L concentration range. In this study, raw, process, and drinking water samples from 11 different waterworks in Germany were analyzed using the HPTLC-umu.

Objective: To assess variability among data elements collected among existing neonatal hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) data registries worldwide and to determine the need for future harmonization of standard common data elements.
Study Design: This was a cross-sectional study of data elements collected from current or recently employed HIE registry data forms. Registries were identified by literature search and email inquiries to investigators worldwide.

Driven by the growing demands for plant-based protein in Europe and attempts of soybean breeding programs to improve the productivity of created varieties, this study aimed to enhance genetic resource utilization efficiency by providing information relevant to well-focused breeding targets. A set of 90 accessions was subjected to a comprehensive assessment of genetic diversity in a soybean working collection using three marker types: morphological descriptors, agronomic traits, and SSRs. Genotype grouping patterns varied among the markers, displaying the best congruence with pedigree data and maturity for SSRs and agronomic traits, respectively.

The porous structure, in which many pores are intentionally placed inside the material, has excellent impact energy absorption properties. Recent studies have attempted to fabricate multi-layered porous structures with different mechanical properties within a single porous structure sample, and the mechanical properties of these structures are being elucidated. However, these studies mainly attempted to vary the densities, pore structures, and alloy compositions within a single material, such as aluminum, for the entire sample.
