Background: Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) represents a major global health challenge, marked by chronic hyperglycemia, insulin resistance, and immune system dysfunction. Immune cells, including T cells and monocytes, play a pivotal role in driving systemic inflammation in T2DM; however, the underlying single-cell mechanisms remain inadequately defined.
Methods: Single-cell RNA sequencing of peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) from 37 patients with T2DM and 11 healthy controls (HC) was conducted.

Sulphonamides have been one of the major pharmaceutical compound classes since their introduction in the 1930s. Co-crystallisation of sulphonamides with halogen bonding (XB) might lead to a new class of pharmaceutical-relevant co-crystals. We present the synthesis and structural analysis of seven new co-crystals of simple sulphonamides N-methylbenzenesulphonamide (NMBSA), N-phenylmethanesulphonamide (NPMSA), and N-phenylbenzenesulphonamide (BSA), as well as of an anti-diabetic agent Chlorpropamide (CPA), with the model XB-donors 1,4-diiodotetrafluorobenzene (14DITFB), 1,4-dibromotetrafluorobenzene (14DBTFB), and 1,2-diiodotetrafluorobenzene (12DITFB).

Aggregation of physiologically synthesized soluble proteins to insoluble, cytotoxic fibrils is a pre-requisite for pathogenesis of amyloid associated disorders including Alzheimer's disease, non-systemic amyloidosis, Parkinson's disease, etc. Considerable advancement has been made to understand the mechanism behind aggregation process but till date we have no efficient cure and preventive therapy for associated diseases. Strategies to prevent protein aggregation are nevertheless many which have been proved promisingly successful in vitro.
