The method includes an aggressive diagnostic approach relying on radiographic and ultrasound examinations, adequate transperitoneal drainage of the abscess, coupled with gastrostomy and feeding jejunostomy. The importance of nutritional support using an elemental diet administered through a jejunostomy is emphasized.
